Access To Gibraltar

EDM number 324 in 1998-99, proposed by Jim Hood on 11/02/1999.

That this House condemns the aggression of the Government of Spain against the people of Gibraltar in initiating a campaign of attrition which has created what amounts to a blockade of the border between Spain and Gibraltar; notes the gross breach of EU law; denounces the threat by the Spanish Government to forbid Gibraltar-bound civilian airlines from over-flying Gibraltar airspace; deplores the use of innocent citizens of Spain and Gibraltar as political pawns in Spain's campaign to force Gibraltar against these hostile acts; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to take effective action and challenge Spain's conduct.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
