Right Reverend Patrick Casey
EDM number 281 in 1998-99, proposed by David Amess on 03/02/1999.
That this House expresses its sadness at the death of the Right Reverend Patrick Casey; pays tribute to his work as a priest and bishop for 60 years in London, Brentwood and Leigh-on-Sea; recognises the remarkable way he forged ahead with the setting-up of commissions on liturgy, justice and peace following the Second Vatican Council; notes the tremendous support he gave to thousands of people over many years; and regards the selfless way in which he lived his life as an example to all.
