Seats In Passenger Trains
EDM number 204 in 1998-99, proposed by Harry Barnes on 19/01/1999.
That this House notes that train operating companies are commissioning new trains with smaller, more cramped passenger seats or are putting extra seats in current carriages to maximise their profits, although the average height and weight of passengers is increasing; and believes that decreasing levels of passenger comfort undermine efforts to make public transport more attractive.
