Ira Attacks In The First Week Of The New Year

That this House notes that, according to the respected human rights group Families Against Intimidation and Terror, in the first week of the New Year the IRA allegedly carried out the following attacks: on 1st January, a man had his two hands broken by a gang using iron bars in North Belfast; on 3rd January, two men were exiled from West Belfast together with a wife and baby; on 4th January, one man was exiled from Derry, a man was exiled from the Markets area of Belfast, and a 25 year old was beaten in the Markets by a gang with iron bars; on 5th January, two men were kidnapped and shot in West Belfast, three adults and two children were exiled from Mid-Ulster, and a family of five were intimidated out of West Belfast; on 6th January two men were beaten in Lurgan by a gang with iron bars, a family of four was intimidated out of North Belfast and one man was told that he was on a death list; and on 7th January, a man was beaten on the Ormeau Road by a gang with iron bars.
