The Ashes

That this House congratulates the Australian cricket team on retaining the Ashes; sends the England cricket team its best wishes for the final two tests; notes with regret that the England cricket team seem unable, at present, to compete with the top international sides; believes that one factor behind the decline in British sporting competitiveness has been the restrictiveness of the national curriculum; and urges the Government to review the national curriculum to encourage more sporting diversity and involvement.
