That this House deplores the intention of the Regional Independent Media, owners of the Lancashire Evening Post, Wigan Evening Post, Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Star and numerous weekly titles in Lancashire and Yorkshire, to cut staff by 25 per cent., along with their secret battle plan to wreck any industrial action the trade unions might take in defence of jobs, at the same time as announcing that advertising revenue is up by 37 per cent., well ahead of the industry average.
