Football League Clubs

EDM number 968 in 1997-98, proposed by Bob Russell on 10/03/1998.

That this House is concerned at moves by some clubs in the Football League First Division to establish a new grouping at the expense of Second and Third Division clubs; believes there is a secret agenda to break away from the Football League and create a second division of the FA Premiership; and calls on the Government to undertake an investigation and report to the House as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
