That this House, in common with all parliaments of the Commonwealth, proudly observes Commonwealth Day on Monday 9th March; recognises the increasing potential of the Commonwealth in helping its diverse membership to build powerful structures of civil society and to co-operate in the fields of trade and investment following the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Edinburgh in October last; and gratefully acknowledges the work of the United Kingdom branch of the Commonwealth Parliamnentary Association in strengthening the links binding together the Commonwealth's ever-wider family.
