World Cup `98 Ticket Allocations

That this House condemns the actions of the French ticketing authorities in failing to provide a sufficient allocation of tickets for English and Scottish fans for the opening matches of the Football World Cup; notes that this is in breach of Single Market regulations and completely disregards the instructions issued by the European Commission; and calls on the Prime Minister to use Britain's presidency of the European Union to press for swift punitive action and a proper allocation of tickets for British fans hoping to attend this festival of football.
