That this House warmly welcomes the initiative taken by the Secretary-General of the United Nations during his mission to Baghdad and the agreement reached with the Iraqi Government designed to achieve a peaceful settlement of the present crisis; urges the United Nations Security Council to respond positively to his proposals; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to support the Secretary-General, to urge the lifting of sanctions and not to take any military action against Iraq.
