Conduct Of The Right Honourable Member For Copeland
EDM number 784 in 1997-98, proposed by James Gray on 12/02/1998.
That this House deplores the arrogant and dismissive attitude of the Right Honourable Member for Copeland who failed to attend the debate on the Beef Bones Regulations on 10 February, choosing instead to spend time in the Members' Smoking Room; believes that this is symptomatic of the contempt which this Government has shown for both consumers, who are so outraged by this illiberal interference in their freedom to choose what to eat, and for beef farmers, about whose plight he has seemed unconcerned; and calls on the government to reconsider this ridiculous ban.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
