Kuwait
EDM number 726 in 1997-98, proposed by David Amess on 03/02/1998.
That this House welcomes the support from the Government of Kuwait for this Government's efforts to persuade Iraq to fulfil those commitments required by relevant United Nations Security resolutions in order to guarantee Iraq's full co-operation with UNSCOM; notes that the peoples of Kuwait continue to suffer from intimidation from Iraq and that over 600 of their citizens are still missing and being held as prisoners of war by Iraq seven years after the liberation of their country; emphasises the seriousness of the present situation; and therefore holds the Iraqi regime responsible for all the negative consequences that may result from its continued intransigence and failure to comply with international resolutions.
