Scottish Farmers

EDM number 613 in 1997-98, proposed by Charles Kennedy on 18/12/1997.

That this House congratulates the National Farmers' Union of Scotland and the Daily Record campaign to encourage people living in Scotland to buy Scottish products as farmers are facing severe difficulties and deserve the support of the community; and calls upon the Government to add its support by increasing support for hill farmers through the Hill Livestock Compensatory Allowances, accessing the funds available from Europe to compensate for the green pound revaluations and ensuring that our farmers can compete on a level playing field.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
