Conduct Of The Leader Of The Opposition And The Honourable Member For Chingford And Wordford Green
EDM number 591 in 1997-98, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 15/12/1997.
That this House notes the claim by the Leader of the Opposition that he would never support cuts in benefits for disabled people; and accordingly calls on him to immediately sack the Shadow Secretary of State for Social Security who, in a No Turning Back Group pamphlet, set out his belief that all contributory benefits should be privatised and thus such benefits made dependent solely on ability to pay, that all benefits should be means-tested and that no one should receive any benefits at a level higher than their income tax allowance.
This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
