Child Care In Parliament
EDM number 58 in 1997-98, proposed by Harry Barnes on 02/06/1997.
That this House urges the Government and the relevant House of Commons committees to accept the need for a creche at affordable rates for the children of honourable Members, their staff and others who work in Parliament as well as child care allowances for those who work for honourable Members outside the Parliamentary Estate; believes that this would be a powerful signal of the Government's commitment to family-friendly policies; and further believes that such facilities would also do much to reduce staff turnover and consequent loss of experience.
This motion has been signed by a total of 77 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
