ACCESS TO PERSONAL FILES - BARNARDO'S CHILDREN

EDM number 534 in 1997-98, proposed by Phil Willis on 01/12/1997.

That this House recognises the excellent work by Barnado's to assist former children gain details of their natural families; is concerned that thousands of former children may have to wait years for such information; recognises that the Government has a responsibility to assist Barnado's in this very important work; and calls upon the Government to allocate resources from its section 64 grant scheme to make sure that all outstanding enquiries are dealt with as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
