Child Labour

EDM number 476 in 1997-98, proposed by Lynne Jones on 18/11/1997.

That this House notes that 250 million children world-wide work in dangerous and exploitative forms of child labour; welcomes the launch on 20th November, UN Children's Rights Day, of the Global March Against Child Labour, involving 300 organisations in 80 countries, including the United Kingdom; and supports the objectives of the march in securing free, meaningful primary education for all children and the elimination of hazardous child labour.
