City Of Hereford Local Government
EDM number 404 in 1997-98, proposed by Paul Keetch on 06/11/1997.
That this House welcomes the establishment of the new unitary authority for the ancient County of Herefordshire; notes with concern that after 1st April 1998, whilst all the market towns of Herefordshire will retain their town councils, the city of Hereford will be without a local council; supports therefore the establishment of chartered trustees for the city as an interim measure; but calls for the eventual parishing of the city of Hereford, so leading to a town council.
This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
