Farm Incomes
EDM number 397 in 1997-98, proposed by Charles Kennedy on 05/11/1997.
That this House is gravely concerned about the continuing problems caused by the BSE crisis, the strength of the pound, with adverse effects on exports, and the revaluations of the green pound, which have cut payments to farmers under the CAP by over 15 per cent. in the past year; and urges the Government to access the funds available to alleviate the problems caused by the green pound and to increase payments such as hill livestock compensatory allowances to ensure that farmers do not continued to suffer.
This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
