Barnsley Football Club

EDM number 29 in 1997-98, proposed by Eric Illsley on 20/05/1997.

That this House congratulates Barnsley Football Club on their automatic promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history after finishing runners up in the Nationwide League First Division; compliments the Board of Directors, the Manager, the players and all concerned with the club for the style in which promotion was won through good football rather than spending millions; and looks forward to next season when the rest of the Premier League can see that watching Barnsley FC is 'just like watching Brazil'.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
