Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Stratford-On-avon And Saatchi And Saatchi Worldwide
EDM number 289 in 1997-98, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 23/07/1997.
That this House notes with concern the very serious allegations that have been made about the funding of the Fianna Fail Party in the Republic of Ireland following the admission by Mr Charles J. Haughey that he accepted unlawful donations from Ben Dunne while leader of that party; further notes that Fianna Fail hired the honourable Member for Stratford-on-Avon as Chairman and Chief Executive of Saatchi and Saatchi Worldwide to run their disastrous 1992 campaign in the Irish general election; and believes that it is now essential that the honourable Member immediately makes a full declaration of the nature of his financial relationship with Fianna Fail and assures the House that, to his knowledge, neither he nor Saatchi and Saatchi Worldwide were paid with money from Mr Dunne or any other unlawful source.
