Conduct Of The Right Honourable Member For Wokingham (No. 3)
EDM number 278 in 1997-98, proposed by David S Borrow on 21/07/1997.
That this House urges the Right honourable Member for Wokingham to explain why he dealt with the competition questions involved in the sale of the British Airways engine maintenance plant at Nantgarw, South Wales, in 1991 when he was Minister for Corporate Affairs at the Department of Trade and Industry and when his wife was Company Secretary at British Airways; believes that a full account of the Right honourable Member's actions in connection with British Airways is now urgent; and calls upon the Leader of the Opposition to take any and all appropriate action to ensure that such an account is given and that the Right honourable Member for Wokingham is removed from any discussions in the Conservative Party about any aspect of aviation policy.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
