Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Edinburgh South (No. 2)

That this House deplores the behaviour of the honourable Member for Edinburgh South who, whilst representing Her Majesty's Government, made a speech in Antwerp in June 1997 saying that Conservative Ministers had undermined consumers' confidence by lying to the public; and calls on the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State to withdraw these remarks publicly and for his removal from any future engagements abroad representing this House or Her Majestry's Government.
