Pylons In North Yorkshire
EDM number 187 in 1997-98, proposed by Anne McIntosh on 01/07/1997.
That this House calls upon the President of the Board of Trade to honour the Government's commitment to oppose the building of pylons across North Yorkshire by the National Grid; notes that power lines can be buried underground and that power should be supplied locally on the basis of demand; and notes that all parties gave a commitment to reject the erection of such pylons and that a definitive decision is now required.
