REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY AND THE WOMEN'S LAND ARMY

EDM number 1769 in 1997-98, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 17/11/1998.

That this House welcomes the Remembrance Day Service held at the Cenotaph in Whitehall this year where the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries laid wreaths to the memory of those killed in Britain's military campaigns; further welcomes the participation of the Bevin Boys, who marched in the parade for the first time this year; and notes that the Women's Land Army were not represented in the parade down Whitehall but hopes that measures will be taken to ensure that they can march in the ceremony of remembrance in future years in order that they be officially recognised for their tremendous hard work and dedication to ensuring Britain did not starve during the War.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
