Centenary Of Liverpool School Of Tropical Medicine

That this House congratulates the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine on its centenary; recognises the important contribution it has made to research, teaching, improving health services and fighting disease worldwide, including malaria and sleeping sickness, since its establishment as the first school of its type in the world; praises its current collaborative international work combating disease and poverty in countries such as Brazil, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, India, Afghanistan, Central America and China; applauds the support given to the school by the Department for International Development; and welcomes the recognition given to the school by its admission to the Freedom Roll of Associations and Institutions of the City of Liverpool in the presence of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal on 13 November.
