Bnfl And Cricklewood
EDM number 1745 in 1997-98, proposed by Rudi Vis on 10/11/1998.
That this House notes with concern the intention by Direct Rail Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Nuclear Fuels plc. (BNFL), of using the operational facilities at Cricklewood in the Finchley and Golders Green constituency for the transport of spent nuclear fuel; notes with equal concern that millions of people in densely populated areas disagree with BNFLs ability to continue using railways and railway sidings for the purposes of such transport; and requests the Government to instruct BNFL to circumvent densely populated areas for such transport throughout the United Kingdom.
