Sustainable Management Of Nuclear Waste

That this House expresses concern at the actions of Omega Pacific Limited in promoting Trecwn in Pembrokeshire as a storage stie for intermediate and low-level nuclear waste for financial gain; notes with further concern use of their unsolicited evidence submitted to the House of Lords Select Committee currently considering issues involved in the sustainable management of nuclear waste to promote their facility; and urges the Government to reaffirm its objective to formulate an environmentally responsible system for disposal of such waste as set out in the 1995 White Paper (CM 2919, published in July).
