Proposed Changes To The FA Cup Competition

EDM number 1703 in 1997-98, proposed by Bob Russell on 27/10/1998.

That this House is opposed to proposals to change the way the FA Cup competition is held; believes that the abolition of replays is not in the best interests of supporters, particularly those associated with smaller clubs; calls on the Football Association to recognise the traditions of the FA Cup; and urges the FA to resist the commercial pressures to alter the format of the competition.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
