Environment Agency And Flood Prevention

EDM number 1639 in 1997-98, proposed by Nick Harvey on 30/07/1998.

That this House expresses its concern at the threat posed to many areas of the country by flooding; regrets that the Environment Agency schemes which address this problem are being delayed and put back by as much as five years; sees that unhealthy and possibly dangerous situations are created through floods; notes that lives and homes are being imperilled due to financial shortages at the Environment Agency; and calls on the Government to increase funding to protect those threatened and frequently inconvenienced by this problem.

This motion has been signed by a total of 33 MPs.
