at end add 'but regrets the fact that it will not be possible to reverse the deplorable decision in the Crime and Disorder Bill [Lords] of the other place which some will see as a victory for homophobia; urges the Government to do all it can in the interim to prevent the continued prosecution and conviction of young men for consenting acts in private; and calls on the Government to ensure that in future legislation the equalisation of the age of consent at 16 is not linked directly with the issues of child abuse and abuse of trust which are not directly related to the ending of discrimination against gay men.'.
