Proposed M62 Junction 8

EDM number 1552 in 1997-98, proposed by Helen Jones on 14/07/1998.

That this House notes with concern that the public enquiry into the proposed new junction 8 on the M62 has been postponed until early 1999; expresses its support for the new junction, which will open up access to a major economic development site in the North-West; sympathises with the people of Warrington who have suffered from increasing traffic congestion as a result of the failure to build the new junction; and calls upon the Government to ensure that the public enquiry into this scheme takes place as soon as possible.
