Conduct Of The Right Honourable Member For Maidstone And The Weald On The 50th Anniversary Of The N.h.s.
EDM number 1546 in 1997-98, proposed by Clive Soley on 13/07/1998.
That this House finds it extraordinary that, in her speech in the House of Commons debate on the 50th Anniversary of the National Health Service, The Right honourable Member for Maidstone and the Weald, on behalf of the Tory Party, managed explicitly to congratulate and thank the Tory-led wartime Coalition Government, Winston Churchill, the Tory Governments of the 1950s and 1960s, the last Tory Government, herself and her front-bench team, but did not even once congratulate or thank the National Health Service staff; invites her to apologise and thank the National Health Service staff at her next appearance at the Despatch Box; and congratulates and thanks the one million dedicated staff working in the NHS in its 50th Anniversary year and all the staff who have worked in the National Health Service throughout its 50 year history and made it such a brilliant success.
