Stadium For The Commonwealth Games In 2002

EDM number 1542 in 1997-98, proposed by Graham Stringer on 13/07/1998.

That this House believes that the World Cup has been enhanced by the magnificent Stade de France, which has enabled the French nation to demonstrate its prowess in design, architecture and engineering; further believes that the 2002 Commonwealth Games to be held in Manchester offer a similar opportunity to the nation; and therefore urges the Government and all concerned, to ensure that a modern state of the art stadium is built for the games which demonstrates the best of British architecture, engineering and design.

This motion has been signed by a total of 44 MPs.
