Birmingham And Lions International Convention
EDM number 1475 in 1997-98, proposed by Richard Burden on 30/06/1998.
That this House congratulates Birmingham in building on the enormous successes of Eurovision and G8 by becoming only the second European city since 1962 to host the Lions International Convention, one of the largest conventions in the world, with around 25,000 delegates expected to generate ú21 million for the local economy, putting Birmingham firmly on the map as a truly great international city and making a reality of the city's description as Europe's meeting place.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
