Nelson And Colne College

EDM number 1471 in 1997-98, proposed by Gordon Prentice on 29/06/1998.

That this House congratulates Nelson and Colne College on winning the Schools' Analyst Competition organised by The Royal Society of Chemistry's Analytical Division; notes that this is the only national analytical competition for secondary schools and colleges and that Nelson and Colne College emerged as winners from over 100 schools and colleges throughout the United Kingdom after successfully analysing a number of compounds found in pharmaceutical preparations that are taken every day by thousands of people; congratulates the winning team of students, Richard Mole, Helen Atkinson and Ian Edworthy and their teacher Mr Robin Leyland; and applauds the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund of the Society for its continued commitment to education in schools and colleges.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
