Proposed Channel 5 Dramatisation Of The West Murders
EDM number 1444 in 1997-98, proposed by Tess Kingham on 17/06/1998.
That this House recognises the distress and trauma of those affected by the West murders, not only the victims' families but also the people of Gloucester; deplores the attempts by the Portman Entertainment Group to make a dramatisation of these horrific events; deplores the fact that Channel 5 television is considering screening a mini-series about the West murders in order to make profits from people's misery; and calls upon the Government to use any means at its disposal to convey a message of disapproval to Channel 5 regarding such insensitive broadcasting.
