National Air Traffic Control System

EDM number 1428 in 1997-98, proposed by Tom Brake on 15/06/1998.

That this House opposes plans to privatise the National Air Traffic Control system; expresses concern that privatisation might affect safety standards and make the unified control of military and civilian flights more complex; seeks reassurances from the Government that no further delays to the introduction of the replacement air traffic control system in Swanwick will occur as a result of the Government's announcement; and calls on the Government to reconsider its proposals.
