Leadership Challenge
EDM number 1416 in 1997-98, proposed by Oona King on 10/06/1998.
That this House welcomes the Prime Minister's support in accepting the Leadership Challenge on behalf of the Government and congratulates the Commission for Racial Equality on its initiative which calls upon all leaders in the public, private and voluntary sectors to promote best practice and encourage others to use their positions to promote racial equality and leadership; is greatly encouraged by the active and public support of the leading figures, many present at the first anniversary reception in Parliament on 12th May, who recognise that racial equality is good for business, good for the community and good for Britain; and calls upon the political parties and other organisations to take up the challenge.
