Shooting Of Hunting Dogs
EDM number 1295 in 1997-98, proposed by Angela E Smith on 11/05/1998.
That this House condemns the New Forest Buckhounds for shooting healthy hounds for which homes had been found following the disbanding of the hunt; believes that these actions prove that the dogs were used as political tools in support of the hunt's discredited argument that hunting dogs cannot be re-homed and will have to be destroyed when hunting is banned; congratulates The Observer for bringing this disgraceful act to public attention; and further believes that the former Masters of the New Forest Buckhounds responsible for this decision will be condemned by both hunt supporters and opponents.
