DUNDEE'S ROLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

That this House congratulates Professor Roland Wolf, head of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund's molecular pharmacology unit at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee and his colleagues on their ground-breaking discovery in the battle against cancer, which complements recent achievements by Dundee-based Professors David Lane and Philip Cohen and their colleagues in this field; notes that these developments enhance the City of Dundee's fast-growing reputation as a centre of excellence in the field of health sciences and bio-technology; recognises that Dundee is indeed the 'City of Discovery'; and looks forward to further good news from Dundee through the BioDundee Initiative and innovative work by scientists based at the recently established and world-famous Wellcome Trust research building, bringing new advances in health care to the benefit of mankind.
