Cornwall At Twickenham
EDM number 1238 in 1997-98, proposed by Colin Breed on 23/04/1998.
That this House congratulates Cornwall's rugby team on reaching the final of the County Championship and their participation in what has been described as 'one of the best matches to be seen on this ground for many seasons'; praises the 35,000 Cornish rugby fans who travelled to London for the event and whose good spirits and superb conduct made the day one to remember; and notes that despite defeat, Trelawny's Army will continue to fight for a university college, Objective 1 status, a strong Cornish economic development body, proper recognition of Cornwall's national cultural identity and regional status and to be successful finalists at Twickenham next year.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
