leave out from 'Addiscombe' to end and add 'regrets that the Labour-controlled council in Croydon did not act on this matter at an earlier stage; regrets further that even now the council is refusing, if it becomes necessary, to buy the Addiscombe to Blackhorse Lane railway to preserve the land as recreational space; notes that the manifesto of the Conservative opposition group on Croydon Council contains just such a pledge; and looks forward to the election of a council which will begin to act in the interests of Addiscombe.'.
