Herefordshire

EDM number 1173 in 1997-98, proposed by Paul Keetch on 31/03/1998.

That this House notes the abolition of the Hereford and Worcester County Council; recalls the opposition to the merger, especially in Herefordshire, in 1972; congratulates those in Herefordshire who have campaigned for Herefordshire's independence; welcomes the establishment of the Herefordshire Unitary Authority; and looks forward to Herefordshire Day on the Terrace of the House on 22 April, when representatives of Herefordshire business, voluntary and charity groups and civic and community leaders will gather to mark Herefordshire's return.
