Renewable Sources Of Energy

EDM number 1138 in 1997-98, proposed by Andrew Stunell on 24/03/1998.

That this House calls for the Government to support the European White Paper to double the amount of energy generated from renewable sources within the European Union to comply with United Kingdom commitments on environmental protection at an European and international level; and urges Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the development of renewable sources of energy is vigorously encouraged as a key part of achieving United Kingdom and EU targets for carbon dioxide emission reductions.
