Crime Reduction In The North East

EDM number 1111 in 1997-98, proposed by Stephen Hepburn on 19/03/1998.

That this House congratulates Northumbria Police, local government, all members of the community, the business sector and criminal justice agencies in bringing about an unrivalled record for decreasing crime and improving the quality of people's lives in the North East; and notes that crime in the Northumbria area is now at its lowest level for over 15 years and that this has been achieved by the combined efforts of everyone living and working in the region.
