That this House congratulates Bishop Azariah of the Church of South India for his inspiring work over many years on behalf of the 200 million Indian citizens known as Dalits, formerly Untouchables, in spreading knowledge of their plight, advocating their cause and developing practical measures and attitudes to raise their self esteem and their opportunities; and applauds his nomination by Indian Members of Parliament and leading people in several countries for the Nobel Peace Prize.
