Workings Of Parliament
EDM number 108 in 1997-98, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 11/06/1997.
That this House notes the remarks by the Prime Minister on the way Members of the House act; invites him to declare whether, and if so by whom, his backbenchers are controlled at the single answer session he attends each week; remembers the reports that when over 100 of his supporters were gathered in a room to hear an invitation to use part of their office costs allowance for party benefit, only the chairman of his parliamentary party was apparently willing to be named condemning the proposal; and recommends that these issues are considered on a non partisan basis in the hope that Labour honourable Members will find their voices and be willing to put thier names to their views.
This motion has been signed by a total of 1 MPs.
