Monument To The Role Of National Servicemen

EDM number 100 in 1997-98, proposed by Jeff Ennis on 10/06/1997.

That this House recognises the important strategic role in the nation's defence played by the two million national servicemen who served during the years of conscription between 1947 and 1963; and asks the Government to consider the erection of some form of national monument in recognition and memory of their service.
