Report Of The Select Committee On Standards And Privileges
EDM number 690 in 1996-97, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 19/03/1997.
That this House regrets that the report on cash for questions, which is being prepared by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, Sir Gordon Downey, is unlikely to be considered by the Parliamentary Committee on Standards and Privileges prior to Parliament being prorogued, and may therefore not be published prior to the election; believes that the contents of the report may be of material relevance to the election; and directs that unless other means are established to ensure the publication of this report before election day, then the report may, at the discretion of the Speaker, be published nothwithstanding the provisions of the standing orders of the House.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
